Open Questions
Hekhal is a working reference, not an encyclopedia of settled matter. This page names editorial questions where the project would benefit from outside expertise. Each question concerns a real boundary in our coverage.
Initial questions are in editorial preparation. They will cover cross-tradition lexicon analogues, the editorial treatment of mid-twentieth-century reception scholarship, and translation provenance for certain anonymous nineteenth-century English renderings of the Zoharic literature, among others.
The first questions ship alongside the Kabbalah codex.
If you have one
If you are working in one of Hekhal's covered corpora and you encounter a gap in our coverage that you believe we should address (a tradition we have not yet treated, a translation we should be hosting, a lexicon term we have missed, a manuscript witness we have overlooked), please write to the editor. Submissions that name a primary source and offer a brief case for inclusion are most useful.
We do not yet pay contributors. We acknowledge contribution in the colophon of any page your input shapes and on the acknowledgments page.
